KERNX Health is a physician led telehealth platform based in Washington, DC. We connect patients across all 50 states with licensed independent physicians for personalized GLP-1 weight loss care, delivered entirely online. Complete a short intake, get reviewed by a physician, and receive a treatment plan built around you if you qualify.
02Our Provider Network
Every treatment decision on KERNX is made by a licensed, independent physician, not an algorithm. Our provider network spans board certified physicians practicing in internal medicine, family medicine, and obesity medicine, each licensed in the state where the patient resides. No prescription is issued without individual physician review of a patient's intake and health history.

Physician
Laurie Mercier, MD
Primary Care • Family Medicine
Dr. Mercier brings more than 25 years of primary care experience to virtual medicine. Her academic background includes Chemistry and Biochemistry, National Science Foundation supported research at MIT, and training in Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University. She later earned her MD from the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed a residency in Family Medicine. After decades in primary care, she transitioned to telemedicine, where she continues to emphasize evidence informed care, thoughtful one to one patient relationships, clinical protocol development, and provider mentorship.

Michael Wasef, MD
Hospital Medicine • Telemedicine
Dr. Michael Wasef began his medical career as a hospitalist in the Tampa Bay area, where he practiced for more than seven years before transitioning full time to telemedicine in 2016. Licensed in all 50 states, he has worked with numerous telemedicine organizations and platforms, developing broad insight into effective, patient centered virtual care. He founded Wasef Health to bring together the strongest practices he observed across the industry and build a high quality, scalable clinical network.

Kimberli Hastings, NP
Family Medicine • Mental Health
Kimberli is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has practiced since 2019 in Family Medicine and Mental Health. She began her healthcare career as an LPN in 2010, became an RN in 2013, and advanced to Nurse Practitioner six years later. Her experience spans nursing homes, dialysis centers, outpatient clinics, and travel nursing assignments. Kimberli's approach centers on helping patients feel valued, informed, and actively involved in decisions about their care.

Theresa Vergara, NP
Doctorate in Nursing • Human Nutrition
Theresa is a Certified Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate in Nursing from Columbia University and a Master's in Human Nutrition, with academic focus on the relationship between sleep and food intake. Her clinical background includes caring for acutely ill hospitalized patients in New York City as well as managing chronic and acute conditions in outpatient settings. She approaches care holistically, looking beyond isolated symptoms to understand the broader factors that may shape a patient's health and wellbeing.
Nurse Practitioner
Craig Sorkin, NP
Integrative Care • Telemedicine
Craig began his healthcare career in first aid service following the events of September 11, 2001, beginning a long term commitment to patient care. He trained in urban and suburban healthcare settings, including emergency medicine and private practice, and studied at William Paterson University and Drexel University. His professional interests include functional and integrative medicine, healthcare technology, and telemedicine. In addition to clinical practice, Craig has coauthored a nurse practitioner guide, authored a book on telemedicine, and written extensively about healthcare and technology.
Provider availability may vary by state and patient eligibility. Clinical decisions are made independently by appropriately licensed clinicians based on each patient's individual medical history and evaluation.

KERNX was built to change that: real physicians, clear pricing published before you ever pay, and a process designed around the patient from the first click. We believe good care should not depend on where you live or what you can afford.
04How It Works
Every patient is reviewed individually by a licensed independent physician who decides whether treatment is appropriate. When it is, prescriptions are filled by a licensed pharmacy partner and shipped discreetly to your door. Prescriptions are fulfilled through the licensed dispensing pharmacy identified in your treatment and fulfillment information. The dispensing pharmacy is identified in your treatment and fulfillment information. Compounding is a long established practice regulated under applicable federal and state law.
05What We Stand For
Honesty is the product. We tell you exactly what is studied, exactly what things cost, and exactly who is responsible for your care. Our platform is HIPAA compliant, our providers are licensed, and pharmacy fulfillment information is disclosed clearly. Prescriptions are fulfilled through the licensed dispensing pharmacy identified in your treatment and fulfillment information. The dispensing pharmacy is identified in your treatment and fulfillment information. We never promise outcomes that no one can promise.
Compounded medications are not FDA-approved finished drug products. A valid prescription from a licensed provider is required. Not all patients qualify. Individual results vary.
