FAQs

Honest answers to real questions

Weight care is personal, and good decisions start with clear information. These are the questions people ask most, answered plainly and without the hype.

01Getting Started

Eligibility and the process

Am I eligible for treatment?

Eligibility is a clinical decision. A licensed physician reviews your full health history, current medications, and goals to determine whether treatment is appropriate and safe for you. Not everyone qualifies, and that is by design.

Do I need a prescription?

Yes. These are prescription medications. A licensed, independent physician must review your case and write a prescription before any medication is prepared. There is no way around this, and that is exactly how it should be.

Do I have to visit an office?

No. The entire process is online, from your medical intake to physician review to your medication arriving at your door. Care is available across all 50 states through a licensed physician network.

How long does it take to start?

Most of the timeline depends on how quickly you complete your intake. Once a physician reviews and approves your case, your medication is prepared and shipped. Exact timing depends on review and pharmacy preparation.

02The Medications

Treatment questions

What medications does KERNX offer?

KERNX offers physician prescribed compounded Semaglutide and compounded Tirzepatide. Both are part of a class of medications that works with your body's appetite and metabolic signaling.

Is compounding regulated and safe?

Compounded medications are prepared by an FDA-registered 503B pharmacy under pharmacy quality standards. They are made for an individual patient under a valid prescription. They are regulated differently from mass produced FDA-approved drugs, and your physician will discuss what that means for you.

What side effects should I expect?

The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, such as nausea or reduced appetite, and are usually mild to moderate. They tend to ease as your body adjusts, especially with gradual dosing. Your care team helps you manage them.

Why is KERNX more affordable than brand name options?

Compounded medications combined with a direct to patient model remove much of the overhead built into traditional clinics, which allows KERNX to offer care at a fraction of the typical cost.

03Cost And Support

Pricing and ongoing care

What does it cost?

The online health assessment is free to complete. When you meet with a licensed physician, a consultation fee applies based on the type of visit your provider determines is right for you: $25 for a message based review, $35 for a standard live visit, or $60 for a complex live visit. The consultation fee covers the physician's medical review, whether or not a prescription is issued. If treatment is recommended and you approve your care plan, your medication and any selected add-ons are only charged after provider approval. Your provider will review your treatment plan and all applicable costs before you commit. No hidden fees. Cancel anytime.

Is insurance involved?

No. KERNX operates outside the insurance system. You pay a transparent monthly rate with no claims to file and no surprise charges.

What happens after I start?

Your care does not end at the first shipment. Your care team remains available for questions, dose adjustments, and check ins as your body responds throughout your treatment.

What if treatment is not right for me?

If a physician determines treatment is not appropriate, they will tell you. KERNX would rather decline a case than prescribe something that is not in your interest.
